Not all golfers are right handed, FACT!

Some right handed golfers play left handed (Mike Weir) and some left handed golfers play right handed (usually because they’ve been encouraged to).   It’s just one of those random things which make us individual.

However left handed golf clubs are not readily available from all golfing outlets and even some manufacturers refuse to make some of their golf club models in left hand golf club options, so why is this?  Can it really be as simple as a cost issue or are golf manufacturers biased against left handed golfers?  Makes you wonder doesn’t?  One of the best ever golfers this planet has created is Mr Phil Mickelson and guess what he’s left handed, he’s won pretty much everything worth winning and has backing from one of the world’s leading golf brands; Callaway Golf, one company who does make left handed golf clubs for all not just custom built for the stars.

Most estimates place the number of left-handers at 10 percent of the population.  The National Association of Left-Handed Golfers says 7% swing from the left side.  In Canada, the percentage is higher because of the hockey influence and the fact that left-wingers need to be just as prevalent as right-wingers.

Many believe the number of lefties would increase if natural left-handers weren’t discouraged from playing the game that way.

Although a minority it seems, we believe left handed golf equipment should be available for all from all manufacturers.  It’s discrimination otherwise.
