The name Titleist has its origin from the word "titlist" (but spelled with an added letter "e"), which means "the one who wins the title" the same way the word medalist refers to one who has won a medal.
Titleist is a subsidiary of Acushnet; Titleist was founded in 1932 by Phil Young.
Their slogan is "The #1 ball in golf",
Titleist balls were first played in the U.S open in 1949 and today are still the most popular golf ball sold in America.
Their current stock has recently had a revamp of technology and design following patent infringement with their Pro V1 balls.
