Mizuno Golf 

One of the original founders of Mizuno Golf Clubs was Rihachi Mizuno, who was born in 1884 in Ogaki, Japan.  With his brother in 1906 they formed Mizuno Brothers Limited.

Rihachi Mizuno was born in 1884 in Ogaki, Japan.  With his brother in 1906 they formed Mizuno Brothers Limited. Golf wasn’t the only sporting interest of this formidable team; Rihachi was fascinated by the game of baseball after seeing a match at the age of 18.  After becoming frustrated by the quality of imported sporting goods, Mizuno went into production and manufactured own label goods.  Their early productions were baseball gloves, baseballs and sporting attire which they made and sold in their first shop in Osaka

These indeed were humble beginnings for the Mizuno brothers who went on to become one of the leading brands in sporting equipment including Mizuno Clubs and sponsoring three Olympic Games.

In 1933 Mizuno produced the first Japanese made golf clubs with their Star Line range of woods and irons.

In 1935 Mizuno displayed their Mizuno clubs in the world’s largest golf club showroom,

Rihachi Mizuno died in 1970 but after 100 years of producing sporting goods, Mizuno is still a family run business with the same ethos as the co founder Rihachi Mizuno.

Carl Lewis, Ivan Lendl, Severiano Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Rivaldo and the New Zealand All Blacks have all reached the pinnacle of their careers using Mizuno sports equipment.  Before Tiger Woods turned professional he too used Mizuno Clubs even though at the time he was sponsored by Titleist!
