The technology around golf bags and their usage is nearly as evolved as the design of golf clubs.  Golf bags have not only got to be super functional but also stylish, which golf bag you have carries almost the same status as which golf clubs you use and the brands know this.  Many golfers chose to marry their golf clubs to their golf bags and stick with the same brand; some will also only wear that brand’s golf clothing range too.  There really is no limit to the add ons a golfer can have to fly the branded flag of their choice.

Golf bag technology and design has to withstand the toughest situations not only on the course but travelling to and from the course in the golfer’s car!  Golf bags need to be both robust but also lightweight and to be able to handle all weather conditions to protect the golf clubs on their journey.

Golf bags are divided into 3 categories;
•    Golf Cart Bag, a larger bag made with a rigid frame and solid base to sit on a golf trolley, not meant for carrying by hand, on the whole much heavier, built to withstand being buffeted on a golf trolley. Will have a divided top to prevent clubs wearing against each other during transit and will also have lots of handy pockets; from drink chiller pocket to waterproof clothing pocket.

•    Golf Stand Bag, a small to medium bag with a semi-ridged frame, with self supporting legs, lightweight, with straps for wearing across the golfers back whilst being carried across the golf course.  Can sometimes be also used with a trolley if legs can be fastened and secured. Will have a divided top and side pockets for carrying balls, golf waterproof clothing, drinks and all the other paraphernalia a golfer needs in their golf bag.

•    Golf Carry Bag, pencil case design, meant to carry golf clubs as a whole together, very small in design and lightweight, mainly used as a temporary golf bag, will have some pockets but no divided top. None ridged frame.
